Toskan Foundation - Youth and Philanthropy Initiative
Julie Toskan-Casale, a founder and the former Executive Director of Marketing Development at MAC Cosmetics, and a founder of the Toskan Foundation, is a Toronto-based philanthropist determined to help build a more compassionate Toronto.
She is accomplishing this primarily through the Toskan Foundation's Youth and Philanthropy Initiative, a school-based program designed to cultivate the next generation of charitable community leaders.
This year, 77 schools from Ontario and British Columbia are involved, with multiple teams presenting at each school.
The Toskan Foundation's Youth Empowerment Day brings together students who have successfully completed the YPI curriculum and the charities who will benefit from the students compassion and the Toskan Foundation's generosity.
This day long celebration includes innovative workshops for the students, guest speakers, and entertainment culminating in the presentation of $385,000 worth of grants to grassroots organizations like Covenant House, Horizon's for Youth, Toronto Community Hostel and Kingston District Immigration Services.
