American Cancer Society Supports Menu Labeling Bill |

For this reason, the American Cancer Society strongly supports the reintroduction of Senate Bill 1420, and thanks its co- authors Sens. This bill would require restaurant chains with 15 or more locations to post nutrition information on menus and menu boards, and would play a crucial role in what must be a multi-pronged effort to combat this preventable disease. In 2006, the California Department of Health Services created a strategic plan in response to this statewide crisis of obesity. Among its recommendations: "Post calorie information per serving on all menus and menu boards at restaurants and encourage healthy food options on all menus."
