Nationally Recognized Young Artists on Display at U.S. Department of Education

The U.S. Department of Education and the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers today opened two student art exhibitions to showcase The Scholastic Art & Writing Award recipients of 2007, featuring nationally recognized work from students across the country, and regionally recognized work from Miami-Dade County. The Alliance, a national nonprofit organization committed to bringing outstanding visual art and writing created by young people to a national audience, loaned the 42 pieces of art and 6 writing selections to the Department of Education to display in its headquarters lobby. Acting Director for Regional Services at the U.S. Department of Education, Kristine Cohn greeted award winners and addressed the guests at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Read more from this post.
